Tyson Fury appeared to take a dig at British rival Anthony Joshua with his choice of gum shield against Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King won the WBC heavyweight title from the Bronze Bomber in seven rounds.

After knocking down the American twice, referee Kenny Bayless waved off the fight after Wilder’s team intervened.

Talk has quickly turned to who the Mancunian will fight next, with Anthony Joshua the favourite.

And Fury may have already hinted at a bout with the IBO, IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion.

The Gypsy King was snapped wearing a gum shield with the word ‘Nigeria’ on it, the country where AJ’s family are originally from.

And the protector also bore the country’s flag, snapped between rounds at the MGM Grand.

The snap was shared on Twitter on Sunday morning.

And fans think it was a direct message to his fellow British heavyweight.

“Shout out to AJ I guess,” one said.

Another commented: “He wants AJ next.”

While a third added: “Mind games with AJ, for sure.”

Eddie Hearn, AJ’s promoted, gave his take on a potential fight within minutes of the bout ending.

The Gypsy King was seen wearing a mouthguard with the Nigerian flag on it, the country where AJ's family are from

“Wow unbelievable from Fury! Fair play and well done Sugar Hill and Andy Lee on first class game plan,” Hearn initially tweeted.

He was when asked on social media whether he would be letting Joshua near Fury after his brilliant display in Las Vegas.

Hearn replied: “Of course I am! And AJ wants it bad..this fight is gonna and has to happen this year!”

After beating Deontay Wilder, speculation of a fight with the Brit has taken off

But Fury did not give too much away in the post-fight press conference.

“I want to enjoy the spoils of war first and my after-fight party at Hakkasan, the Gypsy King is taking over,” he said.

“Deontay Wilder will need time to recover. I think he will want to take the rematch, so I’m pretty sure we will do it again.

“If not, these are the people (his promoters) who will decide and what ever they want to do against whoever.”
